Organic Road, a little background

Fiona Gough wants to keep the Organic Road brand about organics with products as a secondary feature.

From a family passionate about organics and a life-long supporter of organic principles, the main motivation for the Organic Road website is to inform and educate the public about going organic, it's better tasting food, better for the farmers and land, more nutritious food and no chemicals.

Website Design

The clean, consistent design and menu on the Organic Road website makes it easy to use and place orders.

Home, About and Contact, the top-level important pages are on the top menu, which will not change much in the future, while products and recipes are in the left menu with room to add more pages and subpages.

To keep the website loading fast we have made extensive use of CSS and avoided using too many images in the website layout.

Website Features

The website has quite a few customised features to make is user-friendly, the best 3 are:

  1. Custom Search
    uses normal language to search, sorts results by relevance, highlights searched keywords etc
  2. Smart Contact Forms
    remembers typed in details, error checking, spam stopper and more...
  3. Organic Glossary
    each product links to a glossary of certifying bodies with a link to their website
